Massimo was raised by proud Italian immigrants and grew up just outside NYC. With family still in Italy, every summer as a child was spent on his grandparents’ farm just outside Rome. Grapevines and old cantinas were the norm and colored the landscape of everyday life. There he learned the basics of Old World farming along with basic winemaking and cellar practices.

After 25+ years in accounting and finance Massimo decided to return to his roots and opened Insieme Winery with his wife Jessica. Largely self-taught and with the help of pioneers like Clark Smith, Insieme Wines focuses on crafting Old World-style wines from plot-specific North American Fruit.
