Extension Educator, Agriculture
Dave has been a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, and is currently the agricultural extension educator for both Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties and serves as the Anne Arundel County Extension Director. Prior to assuming the University of Maryland Extension position, he served as agronomist/crops master for the U.S. Naval Academy Dairy Farm from 1980 to 1997. During this time, he also earned a BS in Agronomy, Crop Science and an MS in Agronomy, Weed Science from the University of Maryland.
Dave’s extension responsibilities include all field crop and livestock agriculture with an emphasis on fruit and vegetable production and marketing. He has taught the INAG 106 Pesticide Use and Safety Course every semester since 2005 as an adjunct instructor for the Institute of Applied Agriculture at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR). He is an affiliate faculty member of the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture, AGNR. He also conducts fruit and vegetable research trials at the University of Maryland Upper Marlboro Research and Education Center, and the Anne Arundel Extension Urban Farming Research Clinic (AAUFRC).
