Raised in a family of migrant agricultural workers, Alex grew up harvesting crops across the West Coast before his family settled in Napa Valley, where they planted and managed vineyards including Stagecoach Vineyard. Working alongside his family, he gained an early, hands-on understanding of viticulture and terroir. Alex later expanded his knowledge through fine dining at Michelin-starred restaurants like The French Laundry and Per Se. In 2009, he launched his own winemaking venture in Napa Valley, and by 2022 expanded to Colorado’s Western Slope with Fallen Mountain Wines, focusing on modern hybrid cultivars and select Vitis vinifera varietals.
