Chuck, owner, vineyard manager and principal winemaker of Fero Vineyards and Winery, is a urologic surgeon turned winegrower. He established Fero Vineyards and Winery located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, as a family-run establishment with his wife Daneen managing the business along with his son Nick. The Susquehanna River Valley vineyard is located on the family farm established in 1812. Twelve and a half acres of vineyard are currently in production and grow exclusively vinifera lemberger: grüner veltliner, saperavi, pinot noir, pinot gris, and riesling. The vineyard is part of the NEWA (Network for Environment and Weather Applications) program and the site actively supports research with the Pennsylvania State University.
