Winemaker

Emmett Reed moved to California on whim and settled in Sonoma County at the start of the 2005 harvest. He spent the next 20 vintages working in the acclaimed wine regions of Russian River and Dry Creek Valley as a winemaker and vineyard manger. Having recently re-located to the Grand River Valley in Ohio he brought his experience in viticulture and winemaking to a new region. The last four vintages have been focused on cool-climate grape growing and winemaking techniques. As the winemaker and vineyard manager he oversees the estate wine production at Laurentia Vineyards and Winery. Laurentia’s 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the 2026 Directors Choice Award for the best red wine in the state of Ohio.
