Vinifera Winemaker

Raised in the northern suburbs of Syracuse, NY, Michael attended Cornell University, where he was a member of the first class of students with a curriculum-based focus in the studies of enology and viticulture. Graduating in 2006, Michael took a position as assistant winemaker at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards in Hector, NY. In 2010 he assumed the position of vinifera winemaker with the duties of directing the winery’s estate grown vinifera program. He continues to hold that position today. In addition to his duties at Hazlitt 1852, Michael also consults and produces a very small boutique line under the name Attic Cellar.
