Fifth Annual Eastern Winery Exposition Returns to Pennsylvania March 2016

Lancaster PA —The Eastern Winery Exposition (EWE) returns to the Lancaster County Convention Center in Pennsylvania, March 8-10, 2016. With more than 180 Exhibitors, EWE provides the largest marketplace in the East for those in the winery and vineyard industry to view, evaluate and test the most current products and equipment, and to meet face-to-face with suppliers from around the globe in one setting.

Show Manager Bob Mignarri noted that moving the show back to Lancaster after a year in Syracuse has not only provided easier access for wineries in both the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, but also created more exposure and awareness for the event on a broader scale. As a result, he anticipates the rapid growth to continue, with larger participation from the Finger Lakes and northern regions at the 2016 show.

Support from the industry has also continued to grow, with 24 official supporting industry associations and organizations, from Ontario to North Carolina.

The three-day event begins Tuesday, March 8, with two day-long workshops. The first, led by Lucie Morton, takes a deep dive on soil and its influence on wine quality. The second, Planning for Success at your Winery, features a panel of experts candidly sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly along their roads to success.

A welcome wine reception Tuesday evening provides opportunities for networking and socializing. The two-day conference, along with trade show, kicks off on Wednesday and features sessions focused in three areas: Viticulture, Enology, and Marketing, Money and Management. The 20 conference sessions range from filtration, microbiology and lab analysis, to chardonnay, cold-hardy hybrids and fruit wines, to social media, branding and customer data security.

Conference Manager Richard Leahy emphasized the quality of the 2016 speaker line-up and the depth of experience and knowledge. Previous EWE favorites such as Thomas Bachelder, Matthieu Finot, Jerry Forest, Lucie Morton and Dr. Bruce Zoecklein will return in 2016, bringing unique and valuable insights to subjects ranging from old world terroir and soils, to oak barrel alternatives, to the nature of microbial terroir, Brett and reductive strength.
