Jockel has worked since 1975 in cross-flow technology. In 1983 he made the first tests with cross-flow in the wine industry (Romicon) and from 1984 to 1990 he was general manager of Romicon in Germany. In 1988 he designed the first cross-flow filter for small wineries (Romicon WF2/4) which has been produced in series. After three years at Seitz as general export manager in 1992 he became responsible for wine filtration in Europe in KMS. In 1998 he founded Romfil GmbH where he served as CEO until 2013. Since then he has worked worldwide as a consultant for crossflow.
 Jockel has been married for 42 years to his wife Jutta. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.
