Owner & Vineyard Manager

Eric is a second generation owner/vineyard manager at Linganore Winecellars. The Aellen family started growing grapes in 1972 after purchasing a dairy farm in the rolling hills of Mount Airy, MD. After finishing college, he came back to the farm to take over the vineyards. Over the last 28 years the vineyard has expanded to over 75 acres with a diverse mix of hybrids and viniferas. Eric is actively involved with the Maryland Wine Association and Maryland Farm Bureau. His grapes have been used to produce award winning wines in the state, including Alberino, Cab Franc, Chambourcin, Traminette and Saperavi to name a few.
