Chair, Geneva Plant Pathology
Marc was born and raised in the grape growing region of Alsace in France. He received his Master’s and PhD degrees from University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France. He joined Cornell University as assistant professor in the Department of Plant Pathology in Geneva, New York in 2004. His research and extension program focuses on virus diseases of fruit and vegetable crops. Marc has worked on grapevine viruses over the past 30 years, developing rapid detection techniques, understanding their dissemination, and investigating effective and environmentally friendly strategies for their control. His current research emphasizes the biology and ecology of the newly recognized red blotch disease.
